Out walking today and just liked the way these clouds looked.

Here is another ice shot from my day out at Pigeon Lake.

Here is another ice shot from yesterday. This ice slab has been pushed up at the shoreline and has a layer of sand attached. Half the thickness is fairly clear and you can see the bubble lines moving up from the sand, and the other half is very milky coloured.

I went out to Pigeon Lake today to take shots of the ice. I like taking close up shots of the bubbles frozen in place which are easy to see in the big chunks of ice that are broken and pushed up at the shoreline.

Lunar Eclipse

I went out early this morning to see a lunar eclipse and try capturing some images. It was really hazy so it was not possible to get any clear shots. In this image I positioned the moon right over one of the glass pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory here in Edmonton. You can just make out the point of the pyramid but I had been wanting to get a little more to show. It is amazing how fast the moon moves when you position it against something close like this. I could get maybe two shots before having to reposition my tripod to keep the same perspective, so I didn't get quite what I wanted.
