Climbed Mt. Washington (Vancouver Island) today and this is looking back down with a couple of the lakes that are within Strathcona Provincial Park.

It was hard to get a shot today because the water was so cloudy, but it was still amazing to be among so many fish. I wanted to try to give a sense of how many fish there are so this is the image I chose.

The salmon have started gathering in the river preparing to move upstream. There must have been a few thousand in this section I went in, quite amazing to swim close to so many.

My son is standing on top of this stump which gives it some perspective for size. While it is not as big as some, I found it interesting for the way it is clinging on the side of the rock.

I was taking some shots of thin cucumber slices when I noticed this tiny spider. It was so small I didn't know it was a spider until looking really closely. It moved to the edge of this cucumber slice so I took this shot.

I had planned a different shot for this evening but when I got to the location I realized it was not going to work. The smoke from the fires has reached us, although not as bad as the interior. I moved to another spot and took this instead.

Back to a tub in the backyard for more underwater experiments. I set a container of water on a table near a crocosmia plant and then shot up towards the plant while splashing the water. A number of shots I liked so it was hard to choose just one for the day.

I decided to try setting up a small tub in the backyard to experiment with shooting from underwater and see what kind of results I would get. I can't be in the water with a mask to see the back of the camera so it is a lot of trial and error, but there are a lot possibilities to play with this.
