© Peter Mitchell

This old steam donkey is on a trail in Powell River, BC with some other old logging equipment and is part of a self guided walk.

This is a reflection on the water flipped around.

Day 264 - Whale

© Peter Mitchell

This is not a very exciting whale shot but I liked it with the building in the background. We were on a ferry today on the Sunshine Coast, BC.

Day 263 - Oak Leaves

© Peter Mitchell

It was late today when I realized I had not taken a photo today. So here is an evening shot of some changing oak leaves.

Day 261 - Salmon?

© Peter Mitchell

Hard to tell, but there is a salmon in this photo. I went down to the river to see if the salmon were active but I didn't get any decent shots. They still seem to be congregating in the deeper pools.

Day 257 - Black Bear

© Peter Mitchell

We went for a short walk along the Tsolum River today and watched the salmon moving up river. I tried to get some shots of them with my point and shoot I use for underwater, but nothing turned out that well. As we prepared to turn back this black bear appeared on the other side of the river. Not a great, clear shot but better than the others.

Day 256 - Three Birds and a Fish

© Peter Mitchell

The pool behind the birds has hundreds of salmon in it and this is where I took the underwater shots of the salmon. The salmon were jumping so I was trying to get a shot of the heron and a gull with the salmon behind. A second gull came into the picture and most didn't turn out too well, but I had to choose one so this is it.

Day 255 - Crawlspace work

© Peter Mitchell

I didn't get out to get a photo today because I was in our crawlspace working most of the day. When the place was built it was only insulated part way down the wall, as shown in this before photo I took. I was filling in the gap.

It was a bit hard to tell which end was which when it wasn't moving.

Day 247 - Fence

© Peter Mitchell

I haven't tried this type of edit before, convert to B&W but leave some colour, so I gave it a try. Probably not the best image for it and I think I could have been a little cleaner on my masking. Masking is not something I have done much of as I never worked with Photoshop or similar programs, so I have a bit to learn.

Day 244 - Pink Salmon

© Peter Mitchell

I went swimming with the salmon again since they are still in some of the larger pools, most waiting to move up river. This is a female pink salmon which is starting to change colour, the white on the belly starting to spread.
