Day 66 - Fly

© Peter Mitchell

I spotted this fly that appeared to be stuck in a bucket of water this morning (already there, no flies were hurt in the making of this photo), and I thought it would be a good subject for a macro shot. You can see the front two sets of legs on the water surface, but the back leg has broken through the water tension. Along with a big water drop on it's back, maybe that is why it was stuck. If you zoom in you can see the texture on it's eyes, which I find fascinating.

After taking a few shots I lifted it out to the edge of the bucket and a while later it flew off.

Day 65 - The Path Less Travelled

© Peter Mitchell

I experimented with the multiple exposure setting in my camera today. This is two different zoom settings on this section of the path and I liked the way it makes it look like the path forks, with the left fork being a little more mysterious.

Day 64 - Fading Away

© Peter Mitchell

An experiment to combine four images in post processing. After exporting I see where I could do better, but overall I like the way it turned out.

Day 63 - Hazelnut

I'm thinking this is a hazelnut as there are some hazelnut trees on the property.

Day 62 - At the Beach

© Peter Mitchell

I don't often end up at this beach at low tide so it was nice to see all the exposed sand to walk on. It is a mostly rocky beach at high tide. It was windy today and I thought the clouds were really interesting.

Day 61 - Tree

© Peter Mitchell

I went back to this tree today because the lines are so interesting and I wanted to try some different shots.

Day 60 - Fern

© Peter Mitchell

I was taking shots of the worm patterns in this rotting tree and when I walked around it this fern frond caught my eye. I got one shot off and then a light puff of wind blew it away from the tree.
