I like the effect of the solarization filter in post processing.

Day 333

The framing on these oak leaves in this photo is not quite what I wanted, I should have used my tripod to keep the camera steady. The ones I did get better framing on ended up with a background that was too busy.

Day 331

I tried pushing this image in post more than I normally would. I added some contrast and a lot of structure to emphasize the rays from the sun, and then added a polarizing filter.

Day 320

I wasn't planning on doing another flower image but there are so many different types, and they are all around, so it is easy to do in a short period of time when the sun breaks through the clouds.

Went for a nice hike along a beach near Campbell River on Vancouver Island. It was very grey and rained lightly on the return. I shot these patterns on a driftwood stump.

Day 317

The sun was out after work today and I went out to take more flower shots. I kept coming back to this image so chose it to post.

It was raining through the day but stopped in the late afternoon when the sun poked through the clouds. I headed right out and took a bunch of shots of flowers.

Day 315

I didn't have a lot of time today so I snapped this with my point and shoot on my cycle to get groceries. I'm not sure what type of tree this is but it is beautiful with all these large pink blossoms.

Day 314

I photographed this little flower yesterday but there was only one flower open. I didn't have my tripod yesterday and the little bit of sunlight hitting the forest floor around this flower was not quite in the right place. I thought I could get a better image with a tripod so I went back today and there were the three sets of petals open. I really liked the bright yellow and blue next to the purple of the closed flowers. Unfortunately it was solid overcast today so I didn't get any sunlight breaking through to the forest floor like yesterday.

I went out to get some shots of eagles today. I was cycling over to this location and spotted a couple of loons I thought I would photograph. I got off the bike, went to turn my camera on, and nothing happened. I immediately remembered I had taken the battery out to charge up, at the time thinking I didn't want to get over to photograph eagles and have my battery run out. I didn't think I would just leave it behind.

Anyway, some extra riding back to the house for the battery and back again for my eagle shots. (The loons were too far away when I got back.)

Here are a couple shots from the day. Not as clear as I would like, they are cropped since I could not zoom in as much as I would have liked.

I counted around 35 eagles and enjoyed sitting an watching them.
