Day 365

© Peter Mitchell
It is hard to believe, but this is the last day of my 365 project. It crept up so fast and I didn't have any plan for the last image of this project. I thought an image of a door or gate might be fitting since I don't really know yet what is "on the other side". So here is an overgrown door in an old stone building.

I do plan to keep this blog going, but I don't know if I'll do daily photos, weekly, or some other format. Or maybe a combination of all of these. Please keep visiting and I hope you enjoy.

Day 355

There are lots of really nice old houses in Picton, actually all over Prince Edward County. This house is now a museum. I liked this side door with the flower pot set where it was.

Day 354

I shot this standing beside a lighthouse on Lake Ontario at the channel entry to West Lake and looking towards Wellington, Prince Edward County.

We cycled 43 km, mostly on the Millennium Trail, which is an abandoned rail line, and the halfway point was this park on Lake Ontario at Wellington. It was a beautiful day to be out cycling, and especially nice to be riding the trail through the countryside without cars passing right beside us.

Here are a few shots I took on the ride.

Day 348

We stopped briefly on this beautiful beach on the south shore of Lake Superior. (I'm posting a little late since I have not always had Internet access, or a lot of time to sort through photos, while traveling.)

Day 347

Another long day of driving. We stopped in Ashland, Michigan to stretch our legs and I took this shot.

Day 346

© Peter Mitchell
We carried on through Saskatchewan, turned south at Winnipeg, and stopped in Grand Forks, North Dakota for the night. Shot this tractor in a field north of the border.

Day 345

We left Edmonton today for Ontario. While I was the passenger I got my camera out to grab some shots and I spotted this piece of farm equipment. I was able to get this one shot as we were driving by.

Back to black and white today.

Day 340

© Peter Mitchell
I tried applying the solarization filter in post on a portrait shot today. I didn't like any of the colour options so tried black and white. I like the solarization better on plants and objects.

Day 339

© Peter Mitchell
This is a photo of a backyard waterfall and the plants around it with a solarization filter applied in post. I tried some different settings on the filter which created quite a different effect from past images this week. I'm not sure about the top left in this image, but I really liked the right side.

Day 337

I'm really enjoying this solarization filter. I like the effect on greens and reds, and the outlines on shapes and details. I think it looks better enlarged, click on it for a larger view.

Day 336

This is a macro shot of some "step-able" thyme with solarization applied in post. I'm trying different textures, patterns and colours with the solarization filter to find what I like.
